As the European Union continues to expand, the Balkan languages will play an
increasingly important role.

in Greece, the importance of the Balkan languages has long been understood.
Communication and understanding is still done through languages. In this part of
Europe languages like Greek, Bulgarian, Russian, Serbian, and Turkish are heard
and used on a regular basis.
